Friendly Rivalry
If a team has not enough players to compete, it can borrow players from the host club or failing that from any of the other participating clubs providing that no player ever represents more than one team during the event. A team consisting of less than 5 home playing members can participate in the competition but cannot win the Hamilton Cup
Playing team members of 70 years of age or more will be allowed to play from the senior tees (or relevant forward tee as allocated by the host club).

Shared Moments and Reciprocation of Green Fees
A benefit of participating in the Hamilton Cup is that each club will offer reciprocity of green fees to the other clubs to a maximum of 20 games per member per year. If use is made of the reciprocity, each player has at all times to abide by the local rules of the host club.
